In the 16th century, the School Of Night was an underground sect of artists, thinkers, scientists and spies, who some scholars believe secretly wrote Shakespeare's plays. Re-imagined by maverick theatre genius Ken Campbell for the 21st century, this team of bardic improvisers remain as one of his many legacies - improvising plays, poems and music in various genres, always in pursuit of secret commissions! From poems to Pinter, from sonnets to Sondheim, this daring group will take on any challenge, culminating in the impromptu creation of an authentically Shakespearean masterpiece inspired by audience suggestions.

From the creators of the award-winning Showstopper! The Improvised Musical which has enjoyed three sell-out Edinburgh Fringe seasons, numerous tours and London seasons and which was made into a BBC Radio 4 series earlier this year. The cast includes Alan Cox (The Young Sherlock Holmes), Josh Darcy (Hit Me: The Life and Rhymes of Ian Dury) Dylan Emery, Sean McCann, Adam Meggido, Oliver Senton (all Showstopper!) and guests.

Following rapturously received performances at the Royal Court, Latitude Festival, Shakespeare's Globe, the Bristol Jam, Elsinore Castle in Denmark and the Old Vic Tunnels, the School of Night bring their unique brand of esoteric theatrics and wordplay to Edinburgh Fringe.
